Role overview:
Production and layout of artwork and mock-ups and ensuring it aligns with the brand
Liaise with key account managers/clients to determine their needs, timeframe and budget
Work with client ideas and managing expectations
Develop concepts, layouts and graphics
Make decisions on fonts, readability and images used in designs
Review final layouts and suggest improvements if and when needed
Stay updated on industry and design software trends
Manage the design and production of graphic art and visual materials for print, presentation and digital media
Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure project/client specifications and needs are met
Follow a work order process through which design consultation can occur, specifications can be collected, and projects can be assigned and prioritized
Ensure that the finished projects align with customer and project requirements before product leaves department for printing, delivery, and/or distribution
Participate in regular departmental meetings to discuss projects and priorities
Attend design consultation meetings for unusual or large-scale projects
Maintain portfolio of exemplary work samples
Liaise with external printers and production teams to ensure that deadlines are met and that production is on the highest quality
Collaborate with internal sales and marketing departments, customers, and outside vendors and contractors to ensure all expectations are sufficiently met
Skills required:
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with extensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Excellent timekeeping
Ability to provide examples of designs timeously
Ability to multitask
Adaptability
Good problem-solving skills

Computer literacy
Extensive knowledge of cosmetics and the design of products

Qualifications:
Qualification in graphic design
Valid driving licence, code 8
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
A valid medical certificate
Experience:
The successful incumbent must have at least five (5) years' experience as a graphic designer within the cosmetic retail sector.
Must be able to provide an up to date portfolio of previous work.
